How much sugar is hiding in your trolley?

This week is Dental Health Week – a national campaign that aims to educate Australians about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.

We all know how important good oral hygiene is, but how easy has it been in our new COVID world to skip a trip to the dentist and grab a quick sugar boost while working from home…the kitchen is never far away!

This year’s campaign aims to ‘get sugar savvy’. Some helpful tips include:

  • Consume no more than 6 teaspoons of free sugar per day.
  • Choose foods with less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams.
  • Look out for hidden sugars when purchasing foods.
