National Stroke Week
More than 56,000* strokes will be experienced by Australians this year – that is one stroke every 9 minutes.
Today is the first day of National Stroke Week, and the Stroke Foundation is calling for more F.A.S.T. heroes to potentially save the life of a loved one, a colleague or even a stranger.
How do you know if someone is having a stroke? Think… F.A.S.T. and ask yourself these simple questions.
• Face Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?
• Arms Can they lift both arms?
• Speech Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
• Time Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 straight away.
Learn and share this simple F.A.S.T. test – together we can save lives!
